Fresh ginger, turmeric and galangal will transport your recipes across the Indian continent, Southeast Asia and north through Japan, Korea and China. Below are from top left clockwise fresh turmeric, galangal, and ginger.

A de-tox of a tea.
Recipe By: Sheila McDuffie
Serves: 1 cup
Ingredients
Per Person
  • ½-inch piece fresh ginger, coarsely chopped
  • ¼-inch fresh turmeric, finely chopped
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Serve with honey and lemon.
Instructions
  1. Pour the water over the ginger and turmeric. Allow to steep for 1 minute. Straun and serve. The tea may be gently reheated.
